Sidmouth
IF you say Sidmouth to most people, they'll think of the folk festival
- or think of the small but quaint Devon seaside town.
The area around Sidmouth is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which
makes it a special place to visit.
There are amazingly red cliffs around Sidmouth - these are ancient
rocks formed in the Triassic period and these red rocks are common along
Devon's coastline.
Nearer Branscombe and Beer the rocks change to include greensand, mudsand,
flint and chalk which makes these cliffs look much different. With such
a varied coastline to enjoy you're sure to enjoy a relaxing walk along
the shore. There are cruises from Exmouth which give you a great way
of viewing the coast line without the long walk!
